Our Drain Jetting Process
Why Drain Jetting Is One of the Best Ways to Clear Blocked Drains
Drain jetting uses controlled high pressure water to break up blockages and flush waste through the system. Unlike some quick fixes, jetting helps remove the layer of grease, silt and debris that clings to the inside of the pipe, which is why it is often recommended for repeat problems.
If we spot signs of a deeper issue, we can confirm it with a CCTV drain survey and recommend the correct repair first time.
Common Reasons Customers Book Drain Jetting
- Blockages that keep returning despite plungers or chemicals
- Slow drainage from sinks, showers or baths
- Foul smells from inside or outside drains
- Gurgling toilets or “bubbling” waste pipes
- Outside gullies backing up after rain
What Drain Jetting Can Remove
- Grease and fat build up in kitchen waste pipes (common in homes and food premises)
- Soap scum and debris in bathroom drainage
- Silt, leaves and general build up in outside drains
- Scale and mineral deposits that restrict flow over time
- Soft blockages caused by wipes and paper build up (where safe to jet)
Drain Jetting vs Drain Rodding
Drain rodding can be effective for simple blockages close to the access point. Drain jetting is often a better option when you need a deeper clean, the blockage is stubborn, or the issue keeps returning. Jetting hoses can travel further through bends and clean more thoroughly.
When Jetting Might Not Be the Whole Answer
If a drain is collapsed, badly displaced, or heavily deformed, jetting may not resolve the issue. In these cases, we may recommend:
- CCTV drain surveys to confirm the condition and pinpoint the fault
- drainage root removal if roots are the cause
- drain relining as a no dig repair option
- pitch fibre drain solutions where deformation is suspected
Residential and Commercial Drain Jetting
We carry out jetting for homeowners, landlords, letting agents and commercial premises across the region. For food businesses where grease build up is a regular risk, you may also benefit from grease trap maintenance. If you have concerns about hygiene issues such as pests, see our guide to rats in drains.

What Drain Jetting Can and Can’t Do
Drain jetting CAN…
- Clear stubborn blockages: Break down and flush out grease, sludge, silt and debris.
- Clean pipe walls: Remove build up that causes repeat blockages and poor flow.
- Reach further than rodding: Jetting hoses can travel through bends and longer runs.
- Reduce future issues: A cleaner pipe is less likely to block again soon.
If your issue is local to one outlet and seems mild, drain rodding may be enough. If it keeps returning, jetting is usually the better solution.
Drain jetting CAN’T…
- Repair collapsed drains: If the pipe is broken or collapsed, a repair method such as drain relining may be required.
- Always remove heavy root masses: Significant root ingress may need root removal first.
- Replace diagnosis: If problems keep returning, a CCTV drain survey may be needed to identify the underlying cause.

Yes. Drain jetting can be used for internal pipework and external drainage, depending on access points such as rodding eyes, inspection chambers or manholes.
In most cases, yes. When carried out by trained engineers using the correct pressure and nozzle, jetting is safe for common drain types. If we suspect damage, we may recommend a CCTV drain survey first.
Jetting is one of the best options for recurring blockages because it cleans the pipe walls, not just the immediate obstruction. If the issue is structural, we will advise on the most sensible next step such as drain relining.
Yes. We regularly support restaurants, hospitality, care settings, landlords and property managers. If grease is a recurring issue, we may also recommend grease trap maintenance.
