Why should you get your drains relined?

Drain Relining

When the inside of your drains have been compromised – usually identified through a CCTV survey – you will need professional drainage services. Two common ways of fixing more challenging damage inside your pipes underground is to have either drain relining or have replacement drains put in place.

One major benefit of drain relining is that it can work out cheaper than pipe excavation. Additionally, this is the quickest way to get them fixed. You only need to wait for the new lining to be sealed to the pipes and the holes and damage will be gone. There is also no destructive work to be carried out with relining; once the new material is in place you’ll never know the work was carried out.

  • 5 star review  Spoke to Jon at Maintain prior to our house purchase as a house surveyor's report does not give sufficient information. Could not fault the service. Video's of all the drains. a map of their location and description of condition which is incredibly useful for future plans. He arranged everything which was appreciated as we are (were) not local and the report was with us the next day. Like the electrician who inspected the electrical installation; both worth every penny of their fees prior to a house purchase.

Drain relining

What is drain relining?

The drain relining process involves the installation of a drain lining which bonds to the inside of the pipe, essentially creating a pipe within a pipe. The lining, usually made from flexible resin, goes through the pipework either using an inflated airbag to shape the lining to the internal walls, winched in, or forced into place using water pressure.

Before drains are relined, we use drain jetting to ensure the drains have a clean and even surface so the lining can fully attach to the pipe. Drain jetting involves shooting high pressure water through the drainage system to clear the drains of any blockages or dirt which could prevent the lining from fully attaching to the pipe.

Drain relining is a popular solution and it can be done on many pipes. Drain lining can work on pipes as small as 100mm in diameter up to 1500mm pipes. This no dig technology means this is an ideal solution to pipes you may not be able to easily excavate such as those in your home, garden or business.

An initial inspection of your drains using a CCTV survey is one of the simplest ways to see if your drains are able to be relined. Our CCTV cameras are able to dive deep into your pipes to see exactly where the location and extent of any damage is. Our drainage experts will then be able to show you this and advise you and work with you to find the best solution for the issue, and determine whether drain relining would be the best solution to the problem.

Like all our services, our drain relining solutions are available to both domestic and commercial properties. Drain relining is an ideal solution for drainage issues in businesses as it does not involve or require any excavation of drains or pipes. This means your business can save time, money and hassle. At Maintain Drains we are proud to offer drain relining services with 24/7 call outs, fixed prices and fully guaranteed work to ensure your business can deal with any drainage issues with minimal disruption. Call us today on 01202 300040 to discuss your needs.

One of the many reasons drain relining is a popular service is due to it’s ‘no dig technology’. This enables us to repair pipes and drains with no disruption or damage to the surrounding area. Before repair, drains can be inspected using a CCTV Drain Survey to give you a clear picture of the issue, whether it be damaged pipes, root ingress or any other drainage problem.

Maintain Drains drain relining poole dorsetDrain relining is the process of reline a cracked or damaged pipe. It is a cost-effective way to solve common drainage issues, without having to go to the trouble of drain excavation.

If you think that your drainage system isn’t operating at top performance, it could be an issue with your pipes. We can conduct a CCTV survey, allowing us to locate the issue quickly. Then it’s as simple as relining that part of the pipe.

The cost of relining a drain varies depending on the job. The first part of the job involves finding the problem. The most effective way to do this is carrying out a thorough CCTV drain survey.

Once the issue has been identified, you can have your drains relined. Although costs can vary, it is far cheaper than drain excavation and replacement as you won’t have to dig through to the root of the issue.

The most commonly used materials in drain relining are cured-in-place pipe or drain patch lining. Maintain Drains can evaluate and identify your drainage issue and recommend the best material for the job.
